| Dowsing Information Sheet |
| Dowsing is an ancient art that uses a pendulum or similar device to determine information that is not known to the conscious mind. It has been shown by the late Maxwell Cade that the information that operates the muscular response of the person dowsing can be observed in their brain rhythms. Indeed people who claim not to be able to dowse can be shown to possess exactly the same changes of brain rhythm. Dowsing is therefore an inherent ability of the vast majority of the population. The main difficulty lies in forging a reliable link between the intuitive areas of the brain and the muscles responsible for the dowsing reactions. Dowsing has been shown to be accurate under a very wide range of conditions. Double blind tests have given absolutely accurate results with odds of billions to one against their being due to chance. The main problem confronting scientific opinion is that there is no explanation that will fit within the confines of present-day scientific theories. That of course cannot invalidate the fact that the phenomenon exists. In skilled hands, dowsing can be used for many purposes. Perhaps one of the most well known is that of water divining where water can be found by dowsing using angle rods or bent twigs. By using the same technique, geopathic stress can be detected. It also has many applications in the field of the healing arts. In particular it can be used to determine which, of a very wide range of treatments or medicines, should give the most benefit to the client. If the client is not present in person, then it is perfectly acceptable to use a hair sample (a small snippet of hair) as a "witness". In the case of flower essences, that witness is then checked against all the different essences in turn. Those giving a positive dowsing response will then be used to make up the prescription for the client. Normally there will be up to five essences in the final prescription. The speed of healing change that is obtained can vary widely. Sometimes it is rapid. Sometimes it is slow and can only be observed in hindsight over a period of months. It all depends on what the client needs. Some necessary changes may be quite major and any enforced change could cause emotional stress. The flowers act as catalysts, helping the mind-body-spirit unity to update at a speed that is dictated by that client's inner wisdom rather than being imposed from outside. In particular the Bailey Essences indicate which old patterns from the past are interfering with freedom in the present. Many illnesses result from the inner tensions that develop when inner promptings of wisdom are frustrated by old conditionings and attitudes. In this the essences help the client to come up to date, leaving behind old patterns that have outlived any usefulness that they once may have had. If you would like a dowsed prescription, you need to send a small sample of hair to us so that it can be dowsed over. You can still process your order on-line if you wish, but we will be unable to complete your order until we receive the hair sample. The hair can be packaged in any convenient way, but should be clearly labelled with your name. Only a small amount of hair is needed - even as little as 3-4 strands, so long as it is packaged well so that we don't lose it when we unwrap it! The hair will then be dowsed over with a pendulum to determine which essences you need. These essences will be listed with their descriptions, and a bottle will be made up with these essences and sent to you with directions on how to take the remedy. It does not matter if your hair is coloured as the hair is being used as a way of contacting your personal energy. We store the hair samples, so for further prescriptions, you can order on-line without needing to send another one. Please note that we dowse over Bach and Bailey ranges as a matter of course and sometimes we find the need for essences from other ranges. If you prefer to use just Bach or Bailey, you should state this clearly when you order. |
